President’s Message

Unity makes strength: a motto shared by several countries, including Haiti. In our case, the example often chosen to illustrate this motto is the union of our ancestors in the struggle for independence and the creation of the world’s first black republic in 1804. I recall that throughout this beautiful epic, there have always been leaders, spearheads to propose a vision and unite the majority of the oppressed around the noble cause of “Liberty or Death.”

We are no longer in that phase of critical choice between life as a free man or death, but other major challenges in various fields (education, environment, health) have stood in our way since 1804. Hence the need to find solutions by uniting once again. Haitian civil society and the diaspora have a duty to play their part by launching initiatives that can rally around projects useful for the country’s recovery. We can no longer afford the luxury of merely observing and complaining; let us be the leaders, let us be the actors the country needs for its development.

It is with this in mind that four friends (Emeric Seraphin, Fritz Saint-Paul, Claire Marie Guerre Giordano, Karl Adams Saint-Louis) and I created the Evolution d’Haïti association (EVOH). EVOH’s mission is to be a source of proposals and an actor for the development of Haiti. It intends to propose and implement projects to provide assistance in the sectors of education, vocational training, and cultural promotion. This is achieved by leveraging the respective skills of the association’s members and the use of ICT (Information and Communication Technologies). From 5 people in February 2015, we have grown today to more than 30 members who volunteer for this noble cause.

If you also identify with our mission and wish to make a contribution, the doors of the EVOH association are always wide open to welcome you. We are waiting for you, let us unite for a better Haiti!!!
