Solidarity Education
Following the passage of Hurricane Matthew in Haiti in 2016, the South of the country was deeply affected. Families deprived of their financial resources, which largely came from devastated agriculture, and heavily damaged school infrastructure. The EVOH association launched the Solidarity Education project to provide much-needed support to the educational system in Southern Haiti.
- Lack of financial resources for families regularly impacted by bad weather
- Lack of school furniture in communal schools in Haiti
To conduct fundraising to collect financial resources for schools affected by bad weather and for students in need.
The objectives of the Solidarity Education project are defined annually. For the 2016-2017 academic year, the objectives were as follows:
- Pay tuition fees for 30 students
- Equip two classrooms with locally manufactured school furniture
Beneficiary: Valère Communal School (Torbeck communal section, Southern Haiti)
To enable children whose parents face significant financial difficulties to continue their schooling in decent establishments equipped with quality school furniture.
