Haïti Je Connais
The “Haïti Je Connais” project consists of a web application (haitijeconnais.com) and a related event “Haïti Je Connais Live Challenge” aimed at promoting positive aspects of Haiti in various fields. This project is the result of volunteer work by young Haitians and friends of Haiti spread across five countries (France, Canada, Haiti, USA, England). We are convinced that the much-desired change for the country will come through action. We can no longer be content with only the negative images widely disseminated by the media; it is up to Haitians to offer positive content concerning the world’s first Black Republic.
Propagation of a globally negative image of Haiti abroad
- Offering positive content to the public through a web application (haitijeconnais.com) in a quiz-game format, highlighting the country’s assets in various fields. The official launch of the application took place on June 20, 2015, in Paris.
- To organize an annual “Haïti Je Connais Live Challenge” in-person event, complementing the virtual aspect of the web application. An event combining a quiz match about Haiti between the top two ranked players of the application, musical entertainment, and Haitian gastronomy.
- Providing the public with a database of positive information about Haiti
- To offer the public a fun platform to test their knowledge of Haiti
- Providing foreigners with an entry point to discover Haiti from a positive angle
- To stimulate and maintain the interest of Haitians living worldwide in Haitian culture
Associating Haiti’s image with references based on its assets (tourist sites, history, literature, music…)
