Paris, April 29, 2023 – The fifth edition of the “Haïti Je Connais Live Challenge” lit up MAS PARIS, located in the heart of the 13th arrondissement. This exceptional evening was dedicated to celebrating Haitian culture, offering an interactive platform to explore and appreciate Haiti’s history, literature, music, and tourist wonders. The event brought together a crowd of enthusiasts, all driven by a common desire to immerse themselves in Haiti’s extraordinary cultural heritage.
Organized by the Evolution d’Haïti (EVOH) association, the “Live Challenge” is a cultural quiz event designed to highlight Haiti’s brightest facets. The evening featured a children’s quiz, pitting the “Les Bassin Bleu” and “Les Saut Mathurine” teams against each other, as well as an adult competition with finalists Mr. Wilgens Pierre and Mr. Taylor Orbelin Vilbert. The winners were warmly rewarded for their performance. The first prize, won by Mr. Vilbert, was a weekend in Greece for two people.
The stage was set ablaze by the presence of BIC Tizon Dife, whose electrifying performance captivated the audience, with his songs vibrating to the rhythm of the Haitian soul. The interactive quiz was also a highlight, allowing participants to test their knowledge and showcase Haiti’s rich heritage.
The “Haïti Je Connais” project was born from the volunteer commitment of young Haitians and friends of Haiti scattered across five countries, including France. Its goal is to counteract the often negative image of Haiti conveyed internationally by offering positive and informative content.
Despite the security and economic challenges Haiti faces, initiatives such as the “Haïti Je Connais Live Challenge” play a crucial role in highlighting the country’s positive aspects and strengthening the sense of pride and belonging within the Haitian diaspora.
“Haïti Je Connais” continues to offer an immersive experience via its web application (haitijeconnais.com), inviting the whole world to explore and celebrate the richness of Haiti, its people, and its culture.
